Romantic Date Ideas - Ice Skating

Now that the winter months are slowly drawing closer, it’s time to think of ways to be romantic without the summer sun. You might think that this means romantic nights in and cosy restaurants, but it doesn’t all have to be indoors.

There are many romantic outdoor activities in the autumn/winter months, including romantic walks, trips to the countryside and outdoor ice skating, which is one of my favourites.

ice skatingMost large cities have an open air skating rink from January to March and they welcome everyone from beginners to the professionals. It’s great fun and so romantic! Don’t worry if you can’t find an outdoor rink, it is still fun indoors.

You will both have a great time - holding hands as you glide or in most cases stumble round the rink and catching each other if you start to tumble. It’s a fantastic way to get that little bit closer to the one you love, in a fun and active way. Remember to hold on tight and don’t let go!

When you have finished skating, why not share a cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine? Cuddle up close to get warm again before heading out for a bite to eat!

Now finish the evening with a nice meal - somewhere cosy with a real log fire would be great! Some delicious food is what you need, to fill you up after all that hard work on the ice! A nice steak, or a home cooked pie; something nice and meaty to warm the cockles. What a great end to the evening.

You can now head back home and share a romantic bottle of wine or if you still have the energy, why not hit the bars and clubs for a few cheeky nightcaps before heading home. Either way, you’ll both have had an exhillirating and romantic day together.

Now that you have a few ideas for your romantic date; all you have to do now is find your nearest ice rink, wrap up warm and cosy and you’ll be ready to start your romantic date.

Good luck and try not to fall.

Happy Skating.
