Romantic Evening In:: Pampering
June 23rd, 2008 by romeoWelcome to part one of our ‘Romantic Evenings In’ series; bringing you the best foods, wines, films, music and romantic tips, for the perfect night in!
We are going to start the series with a seriously relaxing and romantic evening; good food, good wine, good company and some serious pampering.
To start off the evening, run your other half a luxurious hot bath. Add plenty of bubble bath or your partner’s favourite bath smellies (she is bound to have some hidden under the sink or in the bedroom closet). Remember not to scrimp on the bubbles, the more the better - give the bottle a good squeeze! A few rose petals sprinkled on the bath, also make an extra special surprise.
Now light a few candles, turn on some romantic love songs and away you go; the evening is off to a great start.
Whilst your partner is in the bath, bring her a chilled glass of her favourite wine, or a glass of bubbly if you want to push the boat out.
You now have time to spend prepare the evening’s culinary delights. As tonight is about relaxation and romance, I recommend that you call your partners favourite takeaway. I will be including dishes for you to cook in later blogs, but there are times when a takeaway can be just as good as a home cooked meal (or often better if your cooking is anything like mine).
The food has been ordered, the wife/girlfriend is in the bath, so you now have time to prepare the table (I also like to have a glass of wine at this point - romancing can be thirsty work!)
Set the table (most ladies that I know, like you to go to some effort here, so search around in the kitchen cupboards for the best china, placements and napkins), light some more candles and put some love songs on the stereo. Now dim the light, put another bottle of wine or champers on ice and wait for the food to arrive.
Once you have both eaten, finish off the evening with a movie or listening to some music. You can then treat your partner to a romantic and sensual massage. You do not have to be a massage expert, remember it’s the thought that counts! Try and remember to warm your hands first, if your hands are cold your partner may be more shocked than romanced. Use a small amount of massage oil (or baby oil) on your hands, for a more exiting and relaxing massage.
The evening is now complete and your partner should feel thoroughly romanced and relaxed. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy (you may even find other ways to use the left-over baby oil).
Good luck with your own romantic evening in.
Romeo.
