Romantic Getaways - York

Planning a full romantic weekend can be quite a task, but the rewards can be worth the effort that goes into the arranging! Some careful planning beforehand can make the weekend GREAT!

To help you with your romantic getaways, I will be writing about some of the beautiful places up and down the UK that are available for romantic trips or weekend breaks.

I will start the series with the beautiful city of York; just a stones through away from my home in Leeds.

York is a beautiful town in North Yorkshire; there are plenty of things to keep you both entertained and it is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of North Yorkshire. Below are a few suggestions for a romantic day out in York.

Morning

Surprise your partner with a beautiful bunch of flowers and two rail tickets to York. When you arrive, take a walk around the quaint city streets; taking in the architecture and maybe paying a visit to York Minster; stopping along the way for cappuccino and cakes.

If your partner prefers to shop, York has fantastic shops and boutiques to explore. Spend the morning browsing the shops and maybe treat your girlfriend something sexy. She will be in heaven!

Lunch

Time to rest your feet and have a spot of lunch; there are so many places to eat, you will be spoilt for choice. Find a quiet spot and spoil your partner with a quiet lunch for two.

Afternoon

How does a trip to York Dungeons sound? Holding hands as you explore the dark and dingy dungeons!

Or go back in time to the age of steam at York Railway museum; there is something extremely romantic about old steam engines.

York has lots of attractions to keep your entertained; or you may just want to spend the afternoon relaxing in the pubs and bars. You won’t be stuck for something to do!

Evening

Enjoy a romantic moonlit cruise along the river or spend the evening in one of York’s many fine restaurants. A candlelit dinner would be the perfect end to the day.

York also has a great theatre; you may want to treat your partner to a show. There are also lots of pubs, clubs and bars to keep you up until the small hours.

You can then whisk your partner back to your hotel!
