Romantic Picnic Ideas
Now the summer is here, it is time to dust the cobwebs off the picnic basket and get ready for a romantic picnic. What could be more romantic than a picnic for two!
If it starts to rain (as it probably will if you are in the UK), get the brolly out and carry on regardless. Kissing in the rain will add to the fun.
Here are a few picnic ideas you might like to try out for yourself. They are guaranteed to get your girl’s heart racing.
Romantic Picnic Brunch
Brunch is an America idea which is becoming more and more popular with us Brits. It is normally served on a weekend at around 11 o’clock. Arrange to meet at your local park at 11am, so you can get there early to set up. Find a quiet spot under a tree for shade (or shelter dependant on the weather).
Greet your partner with a glass of Bucks Fizz when she arrives and serve Greek Yoghurt with mixed berries for starters. Follow this with cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels with blueberry muffins for desert.
Enjoy with a chilled bottle of wine. She will be swept off her feet!
Quick Picnic: The quick and easy picnic for when you don’t have the time to prepare!
Surprise your partner by meeting them in their lunch break from work and take them to a nearby beauty spot. For the picnic simply pop into your local bakers and pick up a couple of sandwiches, buns and drinks; it couldn’t be simpler.
This type of picnic is romantic on many fronts; the surprise, the spontaneity, taking her away from the stresses of work and the good company will be more than welcome by your lover.
Romantic Champagne Picnic
This will take some organising and some help from a friend, but the effort will be well worth it. For this picnic you will need:
- BBQ
- Picnic table and chairs
- Table cloth
- Candles
- Romantic beauty spot (by a lake, be the sea, at the park)
- A friend
For the food I would recommend a light feta salad to start, followed by barbequed Cajun chicken and barbequed Mediterranean vegetables with champagne and strawberries to finish. Prepare all the food in advance, so it can be warmed through on the BBQ.
Now you need your friends help. Get them to dress in a dinner suit and collect your partner from home. Blindfold your partner and lead her to the picnic spot where you will be waiting by the candlelit table, with 2 glasses of chilled champagne.
Your friend can now cook and serve the food; this will make your evening very romantic (you will owe your friend big time, but I am sure it will be worth it)!
All you need to do now is decide which picnic is for you and start planning your romantic date.
Good Luck with your romancing - I hope the sun shines on you!
Romeo.
