Romantic Scrapbook Gift
June 24th, 2008 by romeoIf you are looking for a cheap, but wonderfully romantic gift idea, why not make your partner a scrapbook of your time together.
You can buy a scrapbook for most craft shops for a couple of pounds, so this is a great romantic gift if you do not want to spend much money. These items may also be needed:
- Scissors
- Glue
- Photographs (create copies of the photographs if they are special photographs or if you are going to cut them up)
- Old magazines
- Glitter
- Coloured paper or cardboard
- Lots of imagination
The first thing that you will need to do is decorate the cover. I would recommend that you make a collage, from the old magazines and old photographs. Try mixing and matching photographs with pictures from magazines (your head on a models body etc). This will make a unique and personal cover for your romantic scrapbook.
In the centre of the cover you should then put both of your names with a special romantic date (could be the date you met, the day you got married or could be today’s date, to signify the time spent together so far in your relationship).
Now you need to think about what you are going to put on each page. Are you going to follow a strict timeline for the book, with the earlier memories at the start? Or are you going to theme the scrapbook? Whatever you choose to do, spending a few minutes thinking about it now will make the finished article better and more organised.
You can now get to work on the inside of the book; this is the fun part!
Time to get started with the glue and scissors!
On each page add photographs, magazine pictures, lots of glitter and romantic captions. You can also stick in mementos from places or trips if you have collected them over the years; do you have the cinema tickets from that first date hidden away in a drawer somewhere? Try and find anything that will trigger memories.
If the memory is for a specific occasion or date, remember to write the date on the page, as this scrapbook may be around for many years to come.
You don’t have to fill the entire book. Remember that this is a scrapbook of your life so far, so it is wise to leave room to add to at a later date. Your partner may also find it romantic, to fill in the rest of the pages together.
Good luck with your Romantic scrapbook and your romancing.
Romeo.
